The other Canvas courses I have used in support of my courses have both had instructional designers behind the scenes organizing content and making things look good. Last week I had to start designing a course from scratch. Luckily, a lot of the elements could be copied and pasted right from the html view from other pages.

As a student who has been interacting with your Canvas course this semester, I'd say that it has been really useful on this end. I think a big part of what helps me appreciate how you have set it up is the fact that I have something to compare it to. I had a 100% online course last semester via Canvas and I often took several clicks just to navigate to the current week's work. Readings were in one place; assignment submission/discussion posts in another, and weekly messages from the prof. in yet another spot. My favorite thing about how we use Canvas for class is that just logging on automatically sends us to the current week and that all we need is in one spot! It probably sounds simple, but I can't tell you how wonderfully painless it is. Also, I thought it was helpful, when we first set up our portfolios, that you gave us reminders WITH LINKS about where to submit our posts. Again, simple and small - but so helpful!!
