Here are the images from the slides in my Explain Everything Mini-Master Class session occurring later today (Tuesday). I learned some good strategies and tricks for using my iPhone and iPad camera from Don Goble and Cathy Hunt. The first was to turn on the grid for helping to frame shots (video and photo). When shooting video, you want to be 1-3 feet from the source if capturing the audio is important. If you tap on the screen it will focus on that point. Also a little sun will appear allowing you to control the amount of light let in which is really helpful for super bright or super dark situations.
I opened Garageband on my iPad and found a project I must have started a while ago with only two tracks on it (both keyboards). I added an 8 bar drum intro and then a bunch of fun layers. It's like 1990's PC computer game music.
Another draft of some quotes and graphics we'll be putting out regularly when the book is published in one month.
Making a slide for a presentation at iPadPalooza in Austin, TX, I used the draw fill to make Willy Wonka-style lettering.
I completed a proofread of a chapter I wrote as the first author for the Handbook of Research on Mobile Learning in the Contemporary Classroom to be published later this summer. I learned that I will probably never actually see a hard copy of it because it is way too expensive to purchase, though through Teachers College Library I should at least see the electronic access.
I'll be at quite a few conferences over the next couple of weeks and plan to do some sketchnoting. I did a google search for 'nice color palettes', clicked on the first result, and was pleased with what was shared by the author of the blog (Digital Telepathy). Using the cutout tool and the eye dropper, I can easily save and setup Explain Everything to have some nice color combinations for me to choose from.
Derived from a sample of an iPad on someone's spacebar that makes a funny repeating noise.
