Last Week I Learned... ASU GSV

It was an interesting experience going to an 'industry' event about education and technology, with very few educators and educational technologists leading the conversations (except maybe for those who have taken an entrepreneurial step out of the classroom). One entrepreneur, the founder of Kickboard, made a really nice comment about how instead of entrepreneurs trying to solve national or global problems, try to focus on a kind of micro-entrepreneurship within locales and communities. Maybe it is possible to start a 'small business' and test it at scale (or at least the design process) after a short time of research, feedback, and success (to whatever degree that can be measured). Also Bill Gates spoke, and I took some notes.
