Podcasts: Appy Hours 4 U and NPR's Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!

A podcast that I am a currently following is "Appy Hours 4 U," a show dedicated to exploring apps for education. The production quality is slightly low (not the content), and when thinking about something as visual as an iPad it can be a disjointed experience if you don't look at the apps yourself while listening. I do like that this content is being produced by educators purely out of their desire to share information and ideas.

NPR's popular Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! radio program has a podcast/rss feed available for digital downloads of the broadcasted program each week. While it sits in between entertainment and education, I find that I learn the most about current events, history, and random facts via this podcast more than any other audio-only outlet.

I love Wait Wait...Don't Tell me! Fun podcast, but I missed this one. Thanks for sharing it, I am always looking at the new apps that have come out that can be used in the classroom.

Hi, Reshan –

I’m very interested in the “Appy Hours for U” web site, although I must admit that I had to try the link on a couple different browsers; it doesn’t seem to want to work on Chrome, and the result I got was not, I suspect, what you meant when you said the “production quality is slightly low.” After listening to a couple of the podcasts, I can say that I will add it to my list! I appreciate being able to actually listen to some of these ideas (and multi-task!) rather than take the time to watch them. And they are good ideas (such as 1:1 iPad integration). In addition, I’m also a big fan of “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me.” I especially love Mo Rocca. Have you noticed he seems to be everywhere these days?
