The Constructivist Toolkit collaborated with MorrisCooke, a software development company, on the development of an iPad application called Explain Everything.  The app was released in the iTunes store on August 19th, 2011.  Below is the press release.

Explain Everything - Screen Recording, Annotation, Presentation & Multimedia Design App

Explain Everything is an easy-to-use design tool that lets you annotate, animate, and narrate explanations and presentations. You can create dynamic interactive lessons, activities, assessments, and tutorials using Explain Everything's flexible and integrated design. Use Explain Everything as an interactive whiteboard using the iPad2 video display.

Explain Everything records on-screen drawing, annotation, object movement and captures audio via the iPad microphone.  Import Photos, PDF, PPT, and Keynote from Dropbox, Evernote, Email, iPad photo roll and iPad2 camera. Export MP4 movie files, PNG image files, and share the .XPL project file with others for collaboration.

Explain Everything has been designed for use in educational, business, and entertainment settings.

Explain Everything is the result of the collaboration between MorrisCooke and the Constructivist Toolkit, LLC. MorrisCooke is all about the incubation of innovative ideas. MorrisCooke started at the beginning of 2010 with ideas involving Apple iOS devices. MorrisCooke are the creators of the PhotoPuppet HD for iPad, PhotoPuppet Go for iPhone, and VideoPuppet for iPhone animation apps. Explain Everything is based on the PhotoPuppet HD engine.

The Constructivist Toolkit, LLC collaborated with MorrisCooke to help connect visual and functional designs to both current educational research and the practical realities of school settings.  While not exclusively design to be used in schools, the app was designed to help the Constructivist Toolkit's founder, Reshan Richards, explore the intersection of assessment, multimedia, and mobile technology as part of his dissertation research.  Reshan is a doctoral candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University where he also received his B.A. He has an Ed.M from Harvard University and is currently the Director of Educational Technology at a school in New Jersey.

Joy Jeehae Hwang, a graduate of the Parsons the New School (BFA) for Design and Teachers College, Columbia University (MA) served as Art Director and was charged with coming up with the overall design concept and the graphical user interface.
