It's been very difficult to find the NES Classic Edition (the rereleased original 8bit console with a bunch of games preloaded). But it is possible to make your old Nintendo work. All of the games that I thought had broken do still work at my parents house. And it does not require blowing into or shaking the cartridges or the console. Instead, once inserted, simply slide the cartridge left and right to get the best connection between the leads of the cartridge and the connectors inside the console. I wish I knew this 30 years ago. Here is my son "playing" Mickey Mousecapade. Yes, he is standing way too close and his controller is upside down and he is not really doing anyhting.

I'm a big fan of Zoom's video conferencing platform, and I like the addition of the ability to Airplay Directly to the share screen options during a call. Great for sharing an iPad or iPhone.
So many great resources were shared on last week's #teacherbookclub chat. See the Storify here.

I have looked at other solutions that create ways to take notes and/or time stamp comments on YouTube videos, but this is definitely the most elegant service I have come across, especially with how it directly integrates with Google Drive. It completely open-source
I really enjoyed listening to expert trend analyst John Zogby define and describe generations and how understanding of them relates to leadership in schools (and elsewhere). I knew I took notes during his talk and happily discovered that i had recorded them too. So here is a time-lapse sketch note from his talk at the SAIS Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA. I've started an introductory online learning experience for reading, typing, and understanding Polish on Duolingo. However, to say that at this point I am 2% fluent is very generous.
